Cotttons - Shoreditch

Cottons meat platter
Ok, so obviously I am biased because I am of Jamaican descent so I do LOVE Jamaican or West Indian cuisine however, seriously guys, you MUST MUST visit Cottons in Shoreditch!
Now Cottons has had many restaurants, tbh I think they are all franchises. I'm not too sure but I remember visiting the one in Camden as a kid quite frequently with my family. Obvs my palette was not as refined with as much finesse then or, in other words, I can't really remember what the food tasted like but the new Cottons in Shoreditch overshadows previous visits to the Cottons Camden and Cottons Exmouth Market (R.I.P!)

In true sharesy style I ordered the Cottons Mixed Meat Platter, oh my word, it was delightful! The chicken wings were amazing and seasoned very well. The pork rib was meaty and the rice and peas were real and authentic. We ordered a couple of sides to assist the greatness of the platter which were equally as great- Festival, Dumplings and good Ol' Mac and Cheese - all of which were equally as great as the meat platter.

All in all, washed down with 4 cocktails, that I may or may not have ordered, I would, if you can't tell already, highly recommend Cottons Shoreditch. In my defence re the cocktails, I needed to try them all because A) I'm a food blogger - duh and B) they had a Happy Hour !! With cocktails at a mere fiver each it would be rude not to! For me, usually the best Jamaican food is served up out of small takeaway shops and usually when you go to Caribbean sit down restaurants the authenticity is vastly compromised so major props to Cottons Shoreditch for delivering an excellent sit down service and ambience without compromising the integrity of the food!
