This is going to sound weird but, although I am clearly into food, I have never been to a food festival (shock horror - I know!!). Having read about the Just Eat Food Festival on Old Street and making myself hungry via the instagram geotag by looking at pictures of the festival from the day before, I decided it was about time to make a change and off I went.
What I especially liked about the festival was the pick n mix approach. So one token was £4.00 or you could buy 3 food tokens for £8.00 obviously I purchased three. Each food vendor accepted one token for a dish.
My first stop was Panda Berry - the Caribbean restaurant. As well as the Dum Dum doughnut stand this had the longest queue. Great value for money (rice and peas, jerk chicken, saltfish fritter and plantain) all for one token.
Other places I sampled included Red Dog Saloon, Gym's Kitchen and Dum Dum Doughnuts. The fresh strawberry and cream 'Cro' was well worth the queue.
